How to turn your logo into STL

Prefer the original vector

SVG under 250 KB gives filled paths directly. PNG up to 8 MB is sampled at up to 96 pixels on its longest side, then thresholded into contours; small details can be lost.

Inspect the silhouette

For PNG logo to STL conversion, adjust threshold and invert until the right region is solid. Holes and detached dots need inspection. Colors and gradients do not become STL materials.

Plan one printable body

Set width and extrusion depth. The optional 1.5 mm plate sits beneath the artwork. Check thin lines and separate pieces in a slicer before printing your logo.

Can I convert a PNG logo to STL?

Yes. The tool thresholds PNG pixels and traces the selected regions into filled outlines before extrusion. Use transparent or high-contrast artwork and inspect the result. Its 96-pixel sampling limit can create stepped edges or lose fine details.

Does an SVG logo keep its colors?

No. Filled vector regions become geometry; STL does not preserve logo colors, gradients or texture maps. The Quady3D example uses a simplified silhouette taken from our own logo vector.

What does the backing plate do?

It adds a 1.5 mm rectangular base beneath the raised artwork. The base can support separate logo pieces, but this tool does not merge them into one solid. Check the touching parts in your slicer.

Can I use a logo to 3D print a badge?

Set the width and depth for your badge, then check thin strokes and separate pieces in a slicer. A backing plate can support detached parts. Print a small test before choosing the final size.
